Clover Overboard, a new female-fronted Celtic rock band based in Lethbridge, are set to release their first single this December and are ready to book shows.

Clover Overboard was a three-piece band until summer of 2023, with lead singer/songwriter Alexanne Oke on acoustic guitar, Megan Schritt on lead guitar and backup vocals, and Lyndsay Labreque on drums. They have since recruited Alina Khvatova on fiddle and Nolan Musch on bass. Each band member brings extensive musical experience and unique talents to the group.
Their first single, “Like the Sea” draws on their lead singer’s east-coast upbringing and her deep connection to Celtic music. The song was produced in-house by the band’s drummer, who is also known as DJ Rabbyt. The song is heavily inspired by the classic Celtic punk sound which is known for fast drums, crunchy guitar, Celtic instrumentals, and deep male voices. Having said this, they haven’t followed this formula entirely. The lead guitar in “Like the Sea,” sounds much smoother than it does in their other tracks and they’re embracing female vocals, among other changes. Their sound may continue to evolve as they write more original works from varying inspirations. Several of their upcoming songs lean into pop punk styles while keeping Celtic inspirations.
